In recent years, esp. since China fell out of favour as a result of US-China conflicts, India has been increasingly seen as an alternative to China.
Quite apart from the question as to whether India can get its act together and become the world’s supply chain leader is the more important question as to whether India can play geopolitics in the Big League where it takes Lincoln-like assertiveness and no Gandhi-like pacifism.
